G-ForSE
is a platform for all those involved in sports - athletes,
sports federations and organizations, sports goods manufacturers,
facility owners, event producers and NPOs- to consolidate
roles and affirm action on solving global environmental
problems through sports.
The G-ForSE website presents the latest environmental
action in sports from around the world each week and
the G-ForSE Archive is an extensive reference base
of what the global sports community
is doing to increase awareness
and action among the over one billion sports
enthusiasts worldwide. The Archive is divided into
three sections:
- Action on 'sports facilities
and the environment'
- Action on 'sports equipment
and the environment'
- Action on 'sports events
and the environment'.
Every two years G-ForSE, in
cooperation with UNEP, holds a global forum, bringing together
the representatives
of the global sports community to assess progress
and determine future goals.
G-ForSE also supports underprivileged
children in developing countries through the Dream
Camps project
by providing
environmental education and a chance at professional
coaching in a variety of sports.
