What you can do for the environment?

Environmental pollution affects your health, your training and your performance. Whether it's air pollution, water pollution, global warming or ozone depletion - all these factors can affect the health of athletes. What can we do about it?
Although these phenomena occur on a global level, direct action by the individual can have an effect. In essence we are all team members, and our combined actions can deliver positive results on a global level.
To one degree or another we have all had some experience with sports. Whether it's football, tennis or golf, or simply joining millions of people around the world in watching the Olympics, sports touches our lives. If those millions of people were fully aware of the global environmental problems that affect us all, the potential for action is immeasurable. Furthermore, the world's top class athletes win the admiration and respect of a whole new generation of young athletes that look up to them and aspire to follow in their footsteps. Through these athletes we have a unique opportunity to teach about environmental problems and instigate action.
